MY 3 CENTS WORTH

It has been a busy fall visiting the various schools.  I was very happy to see how many of you actually collect coins.

I hope many of you enter the Royal Canadian Mint’s Coin Design contest.  It would be really neat if one of you won.

I look forward to seeing you at the Edmonton Money Show and talking to you about your coin collecting.

WHAT IS KIDS ON COINS?

Kids on coins is a specially developed program, sponsored by the Edmonton Numismatic Society.  We want to talk to kids between 8 and 16 years of age.  We are looking to:

  1. Educate young people on coins (and paper money) and their ever-changing role through the ages.
  2. Give insight and meaning to the images that appear on coins and how these images have evolved over time.
  3. Let kids hold and look at coins from the past.
  4. And, of course, encourage coin collecting.
