in September 1951 Numismatist (American Numismatic Society) for The 1952 Catalogue of Canadian Coins, Tokens and Fractional Currency
Initial Price $1.25 which was later raised to $1.50 in the December issue.
The November 1952 issue of the Numismatist contained a copy of the address given by Major Sheldon S. Carroll to the A.N.A. Convention Banquet in New York City on August 20, 1952. The following excerpt conveys the feelings of Canadian collectors on the publishing of the Charlton catalogue:
"Further evidence of the growth of Canadian numismatics is to be found in the happy situation where Canadian numismatic literature is again being published, in Canada. The year 1951 saw the publication of "The Catalogue of Canadian Coins, Tokens and Fractional Currency" by J. E. Charlton" |
