It was with great pride that the Edmonton Numismatic Society hosted the Canadian Numismatic Association Annual Convention July 29 to August 2, 1998. We would like to formally thank the Numismatic community for helping make our Convention success. Our committee planned long and hard to hold this show.
The following is a summary of the winners of the
1998 C.N.A. AWARDS AND EXHIBITS
The J. Douglas Ferguson Award was presented to James A. Haxby.
The Louise Graham Memorial Club of the Year Award - 1998 was awarded to the Edmonton Numismatic Society.
The Todd Gee Annual Literary Award for Numismatic Writing was award to: Emily Kupp - Mondix in Guelph and Tom Howells - Mondix: Electronic Cash. Both articles appeared in the newsletter Paisley Road Coin Club. The Todd Gee award is presented to numismatists under the age of 21 with the purpose of encouraging young numismatists to try their hand at research and writing.
The Guy Potter Literary Award was presented to Wayne L. Jacobs in recognition of a well researched article on a numismatic subject.
The Jerome H. Remick III Literary Award for best article in a local coin club bulletin was awarded to Yvon Marquis.
The Canadian Numismatic Award or the best club newsletter or bulletin was presented to the North York Coin Club, editor Paul Petch.
The CNA Award for Best Regional Newsletter or Bulletin was presented to ANFC, editor Dominic Labbe.
The CNA Fellow Awards were presented to:Geoffrey Bell and Norm Williams.
